Glyndebourne

In the world of opera, Glyndebourne is unique and it remains a very English institution. It runs throughout the summer, from May through August.  The opera house stands next to the country home of John Christie, who founded it in 1934.  It is recognised globally as one of the great opera houses.  Performances are staged in a modern, world-class opera house seating 1,200.

Its Festival audiences arrive from far and wide and an extended interval gives them time for dinner in a choice of excellent restaurants. Many choose to picnic in the garden. Some sprawl on rugs, others bring tables, candlesticks and ice buckets.  Almost all wear evening dress, which, for the ladies, would be enhanced by our sparkling Blue Topaz Cybele earrings

Henley Regatta and Festival

Henley Rowing Regatta is followed by the Henley Festival, which is a fabulous event on the site of the Regatta, with the addition of a floating stage for performers such as Elton John give it all they’ve got, ending up with an amazing firework display.

The Festival takes place over five days celebrating the best of UK & international music and arts at a quintessential British location. It’s a place to soak up the atmosphere and be entertained whilst experiencing a vibrant programme from pop to world music, classical to jazz, blues to jazz musicians, where art, comedy and gastronomy share equal billing with music.

The Henley Festival has a dress code of Black Tie. Guests to get dressed to the nines – think dinner jackets, evening trousers and bow ties for men, long or short evening wear for ladies, sequins and sparkle!  You know where to look for a little sparkle!  Nicky’s Gems!
