There are many events taking place during The Season in June, from The Derby to Polo, to tennis at Queen’s, and the Goodwood Festival of Speed, to name but a few, but possibly one of the highlights is Royal Ascot.
People tend to arrive at Royal Ascot early, to picnic in the car park and meet with friends, with a bottle of bubbly or two, before making their way to the Royal Enclosure, which is the most prestigious area of the racecourse. Access to which is restricted and by invitation only.
The dress code is very strict for the Royal Enclosure. Formal day dress is required and dresses must be a modest length. Many people chose to wear extravagant hats and fascinators for the occasion. Gentlemen must wear black or grey morning dress.
The opening of the meet is signalled by the Queen’s parade and crowds gather to watch her grand arrival and to look out for other members of the Royal Family and the first race starts shortly afterwards.
This magnificent show of colour, style and fun, with serious racing to be enjoyed in the pristine setting of Ascot Racecourse, is an annual event for many who enjoy it to the full.
Needless to say, a stunning pear of earrings would be the perfect accessory, such as our Kotys earrings
